Tiffany Taylor, PharmD, MHS

Pharmacist

Dr. Tiffany Taylor has always had a passion for health and wellness. At a young age, she developed such a deep fascination with how small molecules interacted with the body and decided to pursue biochemistry in college. After receiving her Bachelors degree at age 19, she continued her studies to become a pharmacist. Dr. Taylor graduated at the age of 23 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy and a Masters in Health Informatics. She has worked in various health and medical-related locations such as retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, health system bioinformatics department, NJ Poison Control Center, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a market access agency, and currently a medical communications agency. Improving the health of her community is near and dear to her heart and Dr. Taylor is very excited to moderate this conference for expanding the health care of black women.

Dr. Laurie Lucas

Adult Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Laurie Lucas is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. As a daughter of a registered nurse, Dr. Lucas also developed a passion for nursing.  Living in Long Island, NY, Dr. Lucas completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Adelphi University in 2006 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Stony Brook University in 2012. She began her career as a registered nurse in the Critical Care Nurse Fellowship program at Northshore University Hospital in Manhasset. Her experience consisted of caring for high-risk patients in the Neurosurgical ICU. Her healthcare career has yielded a variety of experiences including home infusion, internal medicine, and house calls. Dr. Lucas completed her Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice at Wilkes University in the Fall of 2020.

Dr. Lucas’ current work as a nurse practitioner focuses on the transitional care process ensuring medical and surgical patient needs are addressed prior to discharge and extending into the home care setting with the goal to provide high quality care and reduce hospital readmissions. Dr. Lucas’ additional role as a supervisor of education for her department focuses on providing and coordinating education on standards and protocols. Her role also supports and empowers nurses and nurse practitioners by way of staff development.  Dr. Lucas also currently functions as a Supervising Clinical Faculty Instructor for Hofstra University.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 teenage boys, her family, and friends.  She also enjoys reading, exercising, gardening, and traveling.

Dr. Leilanie Martin

Family Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Leilanie Martin Received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Healthcare Leadership from Chamberlin University and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Martin has extensive experience in healthcare which includes; the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care unit, Neurology, Infusion therapy, Aesthetics, International medicine, Communicable Diseases, and Primary Care. Dr. Martin’s areas of interest include discharge planning, Advanced Practice Nurse role development, and Nurse entrepreneurs.

Dr. Martin is committed to diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging and is a certified trainer by Cook Ross. Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor in the Graduate program at Long Island University and is a volunteer adjunct professor in the graduate program with the University of Haiti. Dr. Martin is currently the Vice President for the Omega Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau National Honors Society.
